7. that “character XYZ dies a horrible death and then wakes up in the past. what do they do now with their knowledge of the future [assuming they don’t assume it was just a normal albeit detailed dream]!?” trope (I usually see og!sqq with this, which is very fun! but also a diff character who dies in PIDW waking up in the past could be fun. imagine the chaos of a freshly-killed-by-a-thousand arrows YQY waking up in the past (right after sqq takes lbh in as a disciple? waking up as a head disciple again? waking up in the ling xi caves???), or a just-killed-by-mbj og!sqh encountering mbj again…yum)
8. i like that trope where SY transmigrates into someone other than sqq (maybe another canon character, maybe an oc member of CQMS, maybe a random rogue cultivator OC…or heck, maybe a demon (canon npc or a demon oc))…but I’ve never really seen an airplane bro equivalent? So an airplane bro version of that trope could be fun! (Or an au where both of them transmigrated but NOT into SQH or SQQ respectively?)
9. i LOVE shen twins/bros(/sisters if ur genderbending) sy and sj, both modern au where sj is one of sy’s canon siblings and/or canon adjacent timeline aus where they’re related somehow (if u wanna write romantic sj/sy then feel free to go incest if u want, or else make them not related if u want)

(if its a canon timeline thing where lbh is sqq’s disciple then i prefer either 1. a sqq who knew and approved of lbh getting a bad cultivation manual, or 2. if lbh was given it without sqq’s approval/knowledge, then upon finding out about it sqq does not pity lbh over it)
(if you’re doing an au where a) sj has knowledge of the future and b) is actively trying to change the future via trying to get on a character’s good side, then feel free to have him attempting more of a jiumei adjacent act if he thinks it would contribute to his goals, but at his core he’s still the colder/harsher personality)

Im pretty open to any sub/dom dynamics for the most part but for consensual SJ ships I strongly prefer him to be dominant (SJ being Forced to submit in dub/noncon situations is Very yummy tho)

If ur doing a soulmate au, I loooooooove soulmate identifying mark aus that have gimmicks that don’t directly explicitly 100% for sure say the exact name/first words/countdown to first meeting, but rather have the gimmick as an excuse for more misunderstandings and/or angst.
A couple examples I love include:
1. “you have your soulmates FINAL words to you written somewhere on your body” (could be extra fun for SJ’s soulmate after SY moves into his body and SJ’s soulmate is going ??wait is SQQ my soulmate?? was that his final words to me he’s still alive….isn’t he????, or having PIDW canon adjacent bingjiu, liujiu, qijiu, or OG!moshang with this trope)
2. au where you can draw/write on your skin and it appears on your soulmates body (not necessarily angsty but can still have the element of “unless they draw/write somewhere unavoidable, the soulmates could still take a while to figure each others identities out if they don’t think to just straight up ask in writing”)
3. au where you can sense when your soulmate is injured and choose to transfer/share/halve your soulmate’s injuries onto yourself (and also along the lines of 2, u might not realize exactly who your soulmate is until they get injured in front of u) :3c
4. “your soulmates name is written somewhere on your body….BUT ALSO the name of [your greatest enemy] / [the person who’s going to kill you] is written somewhere too!” (also has extra yummy angst potential for OG!moshang with SQH having MBJ as both names, or if u wanna do some xuan su soul shenanigans+the fanon of sqq swallowing xuan su’s fragments, doing qijiu with SJ having YQY as both names too)
5. Poly ships where someone has two+ sets of soulmate identifying marks (for 1 having two+ sets of final words, or for 4 them having 3+ names for their 2+ soulmates and the name of their killer) or if ur doing 2 or 3 then all of their things can overlap so it takes a while for them to realize they’ve got a poly situation going on for their soulmates

If you’re doing a hanahaki au, i teeend to prefer unhappy endings for it, but more lighthearted happy endings can also be fun! If ur going an angsty route then I don’t mind “character A has hanahaki for character B, and character B DOES finds out that A has hanahaki, but doesn’t know who they have it for until it’s too late” as well as “character B doesn’t find out about the hanahaki AT ALL until it’s too late”…
…and the “too late” could be either when character A dies from hanahaki related complications, or if u wanna go the “character A gets the hanahaki treated via getting by it (& by extension their feelings and/or memories (just the romantic ones, or ALL of them depending on how angsty you wanna go) cut out” route. I think these especially could be yummy for OG!moshang, for mobing, and/or for basically any ship with OG!SQQ.
If you wanna do something more light hearted/with a happier ending, going the “character B finds out character A has hanahaki but doesn’t realize that A has hanahaki for THEM, and gets jealous of themselves in the time before they figure out they’re the person A has hanahaki for” route could be fun for basically any Shen Yuan ship, and/or for any version of moshang
Also alternatively if u wanna do a happier ending hanahaki au but with an og!sqq ship (but also u can go angsty if u want): consider liujiu with lqg having hanahaki for og!sqq, with sqq knowing lqg has hanahaki but not that it’s for him, culminating in lqg having a hanahaki induced qi deviation in the ling xi caves :3c
Also another flavour of light hearted hanahaki I like is where there’s an established ship between AxB, and then (or perhaps from even before AxB get together) character C gets hanahaki for one/both of them of and having it end in some sort of poly configuration

Also re the “system allows characters to read comments of the novel they’re inside of” trope: i didn’t finish reading it but i like the system in the novel “every day the protagonist wants to capture me” where the transmigrator MC of that story’s vision gets flooded with comments the way bilibili videos get flooded with comments and he has to turn comments off to see wtf is happening and has to turn them on again when he’s curious what their opinions are only for them to get overrun by fujoshis after the story the mc transmigrated into officially becomes a BL, and the system giving/taking away points according to the overall general sentiment of the comments instead of SVSSS’s original point system. also imagine sy recognizing his own sister’s username once the comments are overrun with fujoshis LMAO
“devil venerable also wants to know” also doesn’t quite have an actual system (& no points system or transmigration) but still has the in-story characters able to read comments comparing the original story to the new updated story which is fun. heck a straight up devil venerable au with non transmigrator characters getting volumes of PIDW and/or SVSSS could be fun if u wanna do that

And then re:omegaverse: I like omegaverse in any flavour but I do especially crave an omega sj who ISNT hiding his secondary gender bc that is shockingly rare in the realm of omega sj???
Alternatively, omegaverse where sj is the only beta peak lord and (accidentally or on purpose) gets excluded from peak lord activities bc they forget (or “””forget”””) that alpha and omega bonding activities don’t really involve betas.
